Reverend Evadny Blake Biography

Evadny Johnson was born on September 2nd, 1954 to Theophilius and Florence Johnson. A native of Kingston Jamaica W.I. Reverend Evadny accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her savior at the age of 12. She attended Beulah Missionary Church of God in Kingston, Jamaica, where she worked for many years as a youth leader. Reverend Blake attended the Open Bible Institute in Kingston, Jamaica and obtained her diploma in General Bible, Evangelism and Sunday School Education.

Reverend Evadny Blake married the love of her Life Bishop Fearon Blake in September of 1979. She then migrated to the United States in 1980 and became a member of the full Gospel Church of God under the leadership of Bishop T.W Plummer where she served as an Evangelist. While in the United Stated she also attended the Manhattan New York Bible Institute where she received another diploma in Evangelism and Personal Soul Winning.

A very versatile, muti-talented and extraordinary women of excellence, Reverend Blake was first and foremost a tower of strength to her husband Bishop Fearon Blake, who is the founder and pastor of Calvary New Testament Church of God in Bridgeport, Ct. She was also a certified medical assistant, professional decorator, wedding consultant, and an excellent chair-lady! Reverend Blake was very faithful as she labored in the vineyard, always offering words of encouragement and a smile to those who are in need. She was a very effective peacemaker and one who exhibited love, forgiveness and reconciliation. She had held the following church positions over the years: Sunday School Superintendent. President of the Ladies’ Ministry, President of the Family Training Hour, and Secretary of the church. She was also an excellent Sunday School teacher to the adult class as she expands on the biblical principals and helped her students to live a successful Christian Life.

Reverend Blake’s Personal Philosophy was “To be yourself and God will work with you.” A teacher, leader, wedding consultant, and an all-a-rounder, she was indeed God’s manifestation of a Proverbs 31 woman: Many daughters have done well, but she has excelled them all.”

Reverend Evadny Blake was called home to glory on April 8th 2020. Due to her pre-existing condition and battle with type 2 diabetes her health was compromised and she became a victim of Covid-19. Evadny is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 40 years, Bishop Fearon Blake. She is survived by her one sister, four nieces, one nephew and hundreds of spiritual children, friends and family members.
